those are big smiles from all the crafting, laughing, eating and shopping we did!
these friends were reunited from across the country!
this weekend we had a fabulous group....again.
i am finding it fascinating how each group is different and unique.
yet all lovely and FUN at the same time.
friday night we made the ruffle aprons.
it's such a fun project that i think we'll just keep making them.
i love that everyone makes something different and they are ALL cute.
every single one.
AND it is a really great project for the beginner seamstress.
but still challenging enough for the girls with sewing experience.
and....it has ruffles.
enough said.
the women LOVE having so much beautiful fabric to work with all in one place!
and i love to shop for it!
on saturday morning after a big breakfast, coffee and conversation.....
(cinnamon rolls....mmmmm)
we head out to the antique store and barn.
i think this is my favorite part of the weekend.
i can't get enough of that barn!
the store & barn were even on american pickers last year! (tv show on history channel)
a quick phone call home "do you want these star wars action figures honey?"
EVERYBODY found treasures!
we were packed tight in that van, stacked up with our vintage goodness.
not my globe...it went home with robin.
i love kimberlee's white vase!!
the wood box is C-U-T-E....the green box? perfect shade!
i wanted these but i didn't grab them.
i should know better by now.
i'm glad they are going to a happy home....sarah & jennifer will take good care of them.
he said yes. :)
and check out the turquoise dishes behind!
my purchase was the blanket with the orange and pink yarn....$10
kansas treated those crafty girls right. :)
i loved everything they came back with.
i tried to get them to leave it all with me but they didn't go for that.
after we regroup from the barn shopping....we get right back into crafty mode.
kimberlee and helpers make the dinner while we start crafting again.
diana (pink sweater) is my running buddy and turned out to be the perfect craft weekend helper....no surprise there.
cooking and eating is more fun in a ruffle apron.
we take a break to eat.
oh....that dinner is so good.
my favorite chicken enchiladas and kim's corn salad. Y U M.
isn't it so nice to have dinner served to you, not having to make anything?
to just eat?
that is really a treat to me!
the swag was pretty amazing.
i think everyone was really pleased.
how could they feel any different??
i will tell you all about it this week.
it's like crafty christmas morning!
for craft weekend 2 and 3 we made the same crafts.
on the second night we had 3 different crafts all going on at the same time.
they were bunting.....a freestyle canvas..... and design your own tote bag.
they each turned out so different and creative!
two baskets FULL of fabulous scraps to work with...
ashley helped everyone with their words for their canvases.
ashley helped out everywhere all weekend....she's SO helpful!
we used canvases, Decoupage and paint all generously given to us from DecoArt.
DecoArt is one of our awesome sponsors.
we love their product!
fabulous right?
oh the chicken fabric was in high demand.
:)
not kidding.
some of the girls hot glued their fabric strips to the back of their canvas.
and some decoupaged their fabric down.
art is however you want to make it.
there was so much bunting!!
they were each different and each one so HAPPY.
we provide each crafter with a blank canvas tote and they can do anything they want!
sarah's quilt made me smile.
isn't it adorable?!!!
makes me want to make a quilt!
can you ever have too many ruffles?
the answer is no.
and the aprons.....
it's tough but when the girls who have NEVER sewn before finish it's a celebration!
i am so proud of those girls!
this was diana's first sewing project!
amazing.
and julie's messy flower matched PERFECTLY!
carolyn from georgia..................................... sarah from texas..........................................
jennifer from kansas..................................... lori from california.....................................
robin from nebraska...................................... jen from nebraska.......................................
lindsey & annie...... sisters from south dakota ..................................................................
and cutie pie julianna from kansas city......... and her sweet baby boy #3 on the way.
ashley and cindy came together.
they both worked so hard....it's a big job to help at CW!
there is a lot of mess with all that crafting.
but you would never know from how quickly they clean everything up.
THANK YOU ashley & cindy! (come back i miss you already!)
me and my crafty mama.....kimberlee.
i have been amazed by the women the God keeps bringing into my life.
each group has been so wonderful and genuine.
women coming together who enjoy blogging....who "get" blogs and bloggers.
women who have a desire to make something with their hands and stretch their creative muscles and love color.
women who are brave enough to step out of their comfort zone and try something new!
and how every single one has been truly delightful.
it's just so cool!!!
i am so pleased with how it's gone and i am content in my heart.
i feel like i am living a happy, crafty, ruffley, glittered dream!
thank you God for this life and these dreams!
"God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us." Ephesians 3:20 (the Message)
