my kids were saying they were bored.
i told them to get their swimsuits on and finish their lunch.
"why?!" "what are we doing?!" '"where are we going?!" "it's too cold to swim!"
i answered "just do it"
i sprayed it all over our patio table and called them outside.
they were in disbelief.
that they could play IN it...and get it on them.
i said "yes. use it all. go crazy"
they did.
then a fight broke out...like we knew it would.
i highly recommend this activity to you.
i ended up giving them all 9 cans i'd bought.
i said many many times "don't get it in your eyes!"
i thought my kids would like it but they LOVED it.
they had
the.
BEST.
time.
i hosed them down when they were finished.
turned on the sprinklers to clean the yard.
sprayed down the patio.
done.
$11 well spent.
thanks for the idea kristin. :)

Oh my goodness...I love hair-dos. My kids are a little young for this, and my son has some issues with sticky feeling stuff...but I think this activity would just have me laughing (behind the camera lens) the whole time. Great idea, and great pics!

Holy cow, you're a fun mom. I would get as far as buying the shaving cream and then chicken out. I don't trust my kids and I think the 2-yr-old would for sure have it in his eyes.
And you feed them lunch. I need to start doing that regularly. kidding.

i have a feeling my friends & i will do this soon. i remember we used to clean our desks in elementary school with shaving cream then practice our spelling words. so fun. i'm jealous of your great ideas.
Posted by: emily :] | July 08, 2009 at 09:09 PM
Well, FUN times had by all!!! I use to do this in my classroom (when I was teaching) and have the kids do "writing" assignments with their fingers in the shaving cream or math...then when were done, all we had to do was wipe the desk off and then their desks were all CLEAN and shiny. Plus the room smelled good as well.

You crack me up. You're a BIG thinker. I've only ever used one can, miserly squirting it onto windows. 9 cans is infinitely more fun. Meredith xo.
Posted by: Meredith | July 08, 2009 at 02:05 PM
Oh my goodness! You are THE most awesomest mom. I will have to do this when our kids get bigger * 5, 3, 10 months*. What a great memory they will have forever now due to your willingness to color outside the lines!!
