My birthday is actually next week, and while my husband has definitely improved in the gift giving dept., I would say the tennis rackets he gave me for my birthday our first year of marriage were the worst. Not a bad gift if you like tennis....but...he was hoping I would play tennis cuz that's what he likes. I love that man!

first, happy birthday megan!
second, i received an awesome birthday surprise for my 40th birthday this year. i got a new camera which was my present and then my hubby got my closest family and friends together and had them come to a beach house he rented for a weekend. some out of towners too, so i was really shocked! it was the biggest surprise ever. and to top it all off, he compiled a video from friends and family that couldn't make it and showed me the birthday tribute video when we got to the house with everyone there. i cried like a baby. it was the best birthday...so far.

Hello! I have been reading your blog for quite some time, and I love it!!! Happy Birthday!!! I hope you have a great one, I am getting ready for my little girls birthday tomorrow and we will be having 16 first graders (and my 2 year old)at our house(me and my mother-in-law)(my husband is in the harvest field)

My best birthday ever was last year, my 40th. My sweet husband planned a surprise party for me, invited all my old high school friends and family. It was a great day! He also bought me a new fabulous camera that I have taken great photos with that would look wonderful on a wrapped canvas!

It's so nice of you to give one of your readers a gift.
I didn't know it at the time, but my best gift ever was a sewing machine from my parents for my 21st birthday. I always complained about being short and having to pay extra to get my pants altered. My mom thought it would be good for me to learn how to hem my own pants. Almost 9 years later I can't hem a pair of pants to save my life, but I can definately say that my machine sparked my creativity and my love of sewing.

When I was 10, I reeeeally wanted a talkboy pen. It was like 30 dollars for this lame pen that recorded your words. But for some reason, I HAD TO HAVE IT! I knew it was waaay to exspensive to even think about. But, I opened up this HUGE box and inside was this small pen!! I leaped up and gave my daddy the biggest hug. Luckily someone got a picture of that hug. It's hanging next to my bed. Best. birthday. ever.

How about the best Christmas gift ever...It's really the most memorable. From my hubby. A pair of ice skates. I was 38 years old but I felt like I was 10 years old! And I couldn't wait to get out on the rink.

I just "discovered" your blog and I'm enjoying getting to know you and your community. You take lovely photos and your home is beautifully decorated and lived in.
My best birthday was when my children jacked up the heater to our pool to it's highest setting to surprise me with a late season swim. And since my birthday is in the fall and we live in the Midwest it was a great treat to have a chilly picnic on the back deck and then play together in the pool!

Ooohhh! I love that Sunflower picture of yours...it is just so happy! Anywhoo, my best birthday gift was on my 16th birthday, my dad had been working out of town for months and he came home for my birthday and him and my mom got me my first car...a yellow volkswagon karmanghia....i don't have it anymore, but I always tell my husband that one day, I am going to find that car or at least one similiar...it was so much fun!

I didn't hear from him for a couple days and I thought he was just on missions or whatever. Little did I know he came knocking on the front door. I dropped everything and held onto that guy until he pried me off. It was an incredible moment.
