whatever

it was a crafty day.

i forgot about the sleeping in part of spring break!
woo-hoo!
i LOVE sleeping in.
especially on these rainy days.

i ran at the gym....i got there and the tvs were being replaced!!!
running in front of a mirror for an hour?
i almost left.
it sounded AWFUL to me.
then the dude next to me left and he was on the only treadmill that has it's own tv.
i assumed it wasn't working since he wasn't watching.
i took a quick bathroom break at mile 2 and then checked that treadmill....it worked!
so i got to watch old grey's anatomy on lifetime for my last 3 miles. 
i am glad i did not leave. 

 
i promised my girls a craft when i got home.
we couldn't agree on one so we did a few different things.
 

 
annie and i made winter cardinal art from deepspacesparkle.com.
i was in a painting mood.

talby made a princess and the pea picture and painted the turtle shell!

 






later that night...i met some of my friends over at the craft house for a little paint party.



girls night out is getting pretty wild!!
look out...we are party animals!

we watched The Help and ate cheesecake and painted chairs.
such good friends.
they are helpful and funny and GREAT painters!

cheesecake.....it makes a great breakfast too!

we had another fabulous craft weekend.
we are both resting up today.
even with my kids home from school.....it's hard to be a nice mommy when you are tired.
but i am trying.

i promise a post all about this weekend, the crafts we made and the fun we had is coming up tomorrow.
and the crafts were REALLY great.

merry mamas

we have been planning this day for months.
we knew it would probably be cold but i was so optimistic that we'd have decent weather for this race.
we didn't.
we were the Merry Mamas.
but we were pretty FORCED in our merriness.



at least we looked cute!
they postponed the race 30 minutes because of lightening but then we had to do it.
i REALLY didn't want to.
but we did.
the WHOLE 4 miles.


i am SO PROUD OF US!

and it was actually pretty fun.

i felt awesome afterwards!

next stop starbucks!

wednesday

today was cold and dark.

 
i drove out to my friends farm and we did bloggy stuff.
:)

i like bloggy stuff.


 
and coffee.
and cupcakes.

and talking with my friend.

 
i stepped out to say hello to the ladies....


this one even mooed at me.
it was a nice quiet moooooo.
i think she was saying politely "please leave now...and take that camera with you"

i came home with some FRESH milk...YUM.

between talking about blogs we talked about everything else, her phone rang several times, a truck of cows came and left, two people came in to buy milk, she baked and frosted dozens of cupcakes and picked up a sick kid from school. 
i know how that life feels.
it's my normal too....just hers has cows.
there is not a break.

but it's all good.

she catered for craft weekend and she has baked for parties for me too.
they are unreal.
my favorite is the coconut..... oh my.  YES!!!  so good!
 
local kansas girls: you need to call her.

i drove to back to town to pick up my kids in the gray kansas country watching little snowflakes blowing
all around my car.
i felt grateful...
for kansas.
for school buses.
for cupcakes.
for dreamers.
for laughter.
for tears.
for friendship.
for God...the REAL true God who loves me more than i can imagine. He is abundant in blessings.
He is the Hope i have.  He has me in His hands.  He knows all the questions and thoughts i have.
He knows my dreams and desires.  He knows what's best.  i am so grateful for that.

couple things....

yesterday was a good day.

-went for a run right away in the morning....endurance is on my side now.

-my computer problem was a broken charger....YAY!

-i had dinner in the crock pot by 9 AM for the family later.
  (which i forgot to mention and they got pizza instead and then found dinner waiting for them at
   home...oops....oh well...more dinner for tonight! )

and then i left with a friend to see another friend for the whole day.
because my friend Pam....who took me to africa....is MOVING TO AFRICA!!!
oh my goodness.


 
our time together is special.
it's NEEDED.
it's fills of my soul with Christ's love through them to me
it's sharing everything...anything....laughing and crying....and eating....and more talking.

literally 14 hours of non stop talking....by all of us.  :)

and about 15 bathroom breaks.

it's so good.
and i NEED it.

she is moving with her family to Liberia for missions.
it was SO COOL to listen to her share so many AWESOME things God is doing in their lives RIGHT NOW.
tangible, real amazing things they have seen just this month alone....needs he is providing....
it gave me goosebumps it was so EXCITING. 

oh how i will miss her!!!

but i get to go visit her too!
i can't wait to go back to africa.

i mean....wow.



i think Beth is 11 years old.
is that not amazing??
truly fabulous talent she has.

i can't wait to see what she finds to create in africa!

we got home really late and i crawled into bed so happy.
i am a girl who needs time with my close friends.
i crave it.
i need to talk things out.....share....listen....encourage and be encouraged....be REAL...and honest.
we are each SO different in our life paths and what we are doing but we love that for each other.

i love those kind of days.

outdoor movie party....2nd annual

we hosted our second annual outdoor movie party this past sunday night.

we provide the toppings and each family brings their favorite kind of ice cream to share.

it's super fun.

there were kids EVERY WHERE! 

the plan was for them to swim but it the weather changed the day before and we even needed blankets!
we could not have had better weather!


 

 
as soon as it was dark enough and every one had had their first helping of ice cream
we started the movie.

i passed out blankets when it got chilly.
it was so fun to look out at so many friends watching them cuddled up with their families & laughing together.....
in the dark. 

craig found the screen and projector on craigslist.com.
he looked for a full year.
and then this one came along....AWESOME....he was beaming.

 
we are already excited for next year's party!

or maybe one with a campfire and LOTS of blankets in a month or two!  
sounds cuddly warm to me.
