so i thought the match funds were only yesterday with One Day's Wages to fund Diana's project in Uganda.
but i was wrong!
and i am SO GLAD i was wrong!
we have until FRIDAY to have our donations matched! YAY!!!!
this is totally possible.
it's $5000 to fund Diana's water project.
ALL we have to raise is $2500 because One Day's Wages will match our donations up to $2500.
Diana remembers the exact moment she wanted to become an engineer.
She felt such helpless frustration, standing there, only four-years-old, watching the adults in her village scratch their heads. Their only well, which provided clean water to everyone she knew, had broken down. No one had a clue how to resolve the issue. Diana said she vividly remembers thinking, “When I grow up, I’m going to fix this.”
AND SHE IS DOING IT!
wow.
i would love to meet Diana!
here's what i did at my house today with water so far....
i filled up my coffee maker.
i washed my hands.
i brushed my teeth.
i washed my face.
i washed my family's dishes.
i did a load of laundry.
i flushed the toilet.
i washed my hands again.
i took a shower.
i filled up my giant drinking cup.
i gave my children drinks.
i did another load of laundry.
i watered my plants.
i gave our chickens, kitties and dog clean fresh water to drink.
i cleaned off the porch with water from the hose.
i got another drink.
i boiled water for pasta to eat.
i could go on and on.
WE ARE SO BLESSED to have clean water.
let's share our blessings with mothers in Uganda today that can't do these things.
can you imagine getting water from a swamp and having to give it to your kids?!!!
to cook your food in it?
"each of you should give what you have decided in
your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion,
for God loves a cheerful giver"
2 Corinthians 9:7
