i can't believe summer is over.
i was talking with some moms at the pool yesterday and we all said how this summer went so fast there was no time to even have a routine.
we all wanted one.
but there was too much going on for one.

crazy.

and now school starts next week!  
we have a few more supplies to pick up.
and a couple of fun things planned in the last four days.

i am ready for a regular routine of school buses and quiet days.

it turns out it is really hard to work a job and have kids at home all summer!  

ha ha ha

but i am so grateful that i can be home most of the time though.
i like these goofy kids.
even with the fighting... towels on the floor... dirty dishes... empty fridge... late nights.... and all that.

it's all worth it.

on tuesday night we surprised the little girls and took them to the Taylor Swift concert!!!
they were so excited!
they kept their hands over their mouths for the first two songs...in shock.

annie and i were a different section from talby and craig.
but we were on the same aisle so they kept running back and forth giggling and singing to each other.
it was SO CUTE.

i was witnessing a true sister bond.  
i told craig "i'd be just as happy watching them watching taylor swift all night than the actual concert"

halfway through annie turned to me and screamed "LOOK WHAT WE WOULD HAVE MISSED??!!  IF WE HADN'T BEEN HERE?!! WE WOULD HAVE MISSED ALL THIS GOODNESS!!!!"  
she really couldn't believe everything she was seeing.

and i thought Taylor Swift totally rocked the house.
the concert version of Trouble was my favorite.  
it was LOUD and they remixed it with a violin and SUPER LOUD bass.

and the last song ended with a billion pieces of confetti and Taylor at the end of a suspended catwalk over the crowd.

yeah.... it was a great surprise.

so glad we did it.

 

 

ok... i think this cloudy rainy afternoon calls for making a cake.

yesterday between my boys' basketball games i ran into Joann's.
on both sides of town.
and michaels.
that pom pom yarn was on clearance for .97!

score.

it will be so much fun to use!

the fabric is all from Joann's too.  In fact... i bought nothing at michaels this time.

 

waffle got his hair cut again.
i like him so much more when his hair is short.
he just feels cleaner.
i am not sure if he is... but it seems like it.

 

still no eggs.
but i know it won't be long now.

yesterday at Michaels i came across an end cap filled with this brand of scrapbooking supllies.
i was in love.
i liked EVERY SINGLE thing they had.
it made want to make all kinds of things!
i immediately felt inspired.

i went home and found their blog.  SIMPLE STORIES.  enjoy!

i am pretty sure you will love it all too.

two kitties are even more fun than one kitty!

look what my friend Pam gave me from her garden?!
holy cow.
she shared one recipe with me but i would love to hear what YOU would do with these gigantic zucchinis and squash.
they are at least four times the ones that are for sale in our stores.

oh the internet!!!!

i am not happy with the internet at my house.
every photo takes F O R E V E R to up load.
and i have a bajillion pictures to upload.

we are winding down with summer over here.
my kids go back to school in two weeks!

 

i have been on a little health journey... all year but especially since the half marathon.
bottom line:  eating healthy and working out takes TIME.
it's kind of annoying.
planning ahead what you are going to eat.... figuring out how to work in an hour-ish of exercise.
it's working but i just wish it was easy.
but if it was easy.... then we'd all be thin and healthy right?!

i will tell you about this more this week.

 

and.... i am working on a new website.
that is sooo close to being done.
and wow.... there is so much to learn!
but i like it and i hope you do too!

craft weekend starts up again soon.
so i am making new crafts and gathering supplies for that.
i love making a NEW project for the first time... SO EXCITING!
and these are awesome.

i buy from joann's, hobby lobby and my local quilt shop too.

it's been raining here for days.
so i took my kids to our town's little hotel indoor pool for awhile...
and i am snagging their free faster internet.
